The UK Government is introducing a three tiered system of local COVID Alert Levels in England from Wednesday 14 October. The three local alert levels do not affect the heavy vehicle testing service.
When you should get your vehicle tested
Testing demand is being managed using using the planned exemptions. You should only book your vehicle in for its test when the MOT is due.
This will make sure that tests aren’t booked when they’re not needed and vehicles and trailers which legally need a test can get one.
You should continue to manage the regular maintenance and inspection schedule for your vehicles and trailers during the exemption period. This is a legal requirement under your operator’s licence
Vocational tests
DVSA vocational theory and practical test services will not be affected by the additional restrictions. Tests will continue to go ahead as planned and the booking service will remain open.
