The current guidance for Driver CPC and Carriage of Dangerous Goods has been reviewed and updated in England.
Wherever possible, all Driver CPC periodic training and dangerous goods training should be delivered remotely.
Driver CPC periodic training
Employers must reduce the spread of the virus by following Public Health England guidance/advice for employers to make sure their workplace is covid-secure.
Employers providing driver CPC periodic training should deliver this training remotely wherever possible until restrictions in England are lifted. However, where necessary, essential Driver CPC periodic training can be delivered to their own employees using their own trainers on their own site.
Employers should not use third party trainers at their own site or arrange for their employees to be trained at a third-party site.
Carriage of Dangerous Goods (ADR) training and examinations
The current ADR qualification extensions will not be extended beyond 28 February 2021.
Employers must reduce the spread of the virus by following Public Health England guidance/advice for employers to make sure their workplace and classroom is covid-secure.
Employers can, if necessary, continue providing classroom-based dangerous goods (ADR) training to their own employees using their own trainers on their own site.
Employers should not use third party trainers at their own site or arrange for their employees to be trained at a third-party site.
Classroom based examinations can continue providing the rooms are covid-secure.
These restrictions will remain in place until the next formal Government review.
